Chocolate Oatmeal Protein Bites

Happy Friday everyone! Today at the gym I did a leg workout and boy are my legs going to be sore tomorrow for work. I'll be walking with what may appear to be swagger, but really I'll be sore as hell. I opted not to run today since my shins felt a bit achy. Probably won't run until Sunday morning at my favorite park. Looking forward to that run!

Anyways you ever go to the gym and have to wait for the squat rack? I kept my eye on it today since it was occupied. Of course as soon as one opened up, I darted towards it because in the corner of my eye I saw someone heading towards it. Problem averted!  For some reason wining this squat rack motivated me to do a longer workout. What was supposed to be a one hour workout ended up being an hour and a half workout. My legs felt like jello at the end. It's probably one of my favorite feelings...I know pretty twisted right?  Afterwards I wanted something different from my usual protein shake for recovery, so I decided to make some protein bites. They were super easy to make and required simple ingredients. Hope you enjoy them as much as I did!

Chocolate Oatmeal Protein Bites

Ingredients:
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup Almond Butter ( I used Justin's because it's my favorite)
  • 1/3 cup all natural honey
  • 1/4 cup chocolate chips
  • 2 Tbsp chia seeds
  • Approximately one scoop of chocolate protein powder

Directions:

  • Mix all ingredients together in a bowl

  • Place in the refrigerator for 30 minutes
  • Remove from refrigerator and scoop into bite sized balls
  • Store in the refrigerator

No baking, no fuss, and homemade! Super easy to make and delicious.  Its a great way to get protein in you with healthy ingredients. Hope you guys enjoy this recipe.

Any one else have problems getting machines at the gym?
