Basic Core Workout
Do you eat after a workout? I wake up early and always make a protein shake for post workout. I drink it on my way to work and it ties me over for about 4 hours. If shakes aren't your cup of tea then I suggest some other protein filled breakfast. It should be enough protein (10-20 grams) to provide emergy, nutrients and refuel those muscles used. Here is a simple recipe for a quick protein shake:
Strawberry Banana Protein Shake
Ingredients:
- 2 tablespoons of Chia seeds
- 1 scoop protein powder (I used strawberry)
- 2 1/2 cups of Unsweetened Almond Milk
- 1/2 cup of Quick oats
- 1 Banana
- Fresh strawberries (optional)
***I usually make enough for my husband and I so my measurements are for two people.***
Directions:
- Combine every thing in a blender, blend for a few seconds and serve!

This smoothie is so delicious and filling, but also healthy for you. The banana is high in potassium and helps with preventing cramps. Chia seeds are great for stomach expansion and contain protein and carbs. Oats are a great source of fiber and contain vitamins and minerals. Almond milk is a great source of calcium and also lactose free for all you lactose intolerant people. And well the protein powder contains your needed protein after a workout. There you have it!
Hope everyone had a great Monday!
