Killer Leg Day Workout: My Favorite Workout Day!

I can't tell you how much I love leg day! It is by far my favorite workout day.  When all the equipment is available for me to use, it feels like I am in heaven. I used to be so intimidated to use the squat rack machines. Then in the two years I started to see more and more women use them, so I put on my big girl panties and joined the posse. Actually I had my husband go with me and show me how to use it! Didn't want to be that moron that is hogging a machine she doesn't know how to use. Hah! Since I started using them though, I have noticed much more definition in my legs. Below is the leg day workout I did yesterday. I have been doing this workout for the past month and every time my legs turn into jello! Best feeling!

I am still sore from this workout but by day 3, I start to walk normal. Typically if the squat rack machines are all being occupied (and I don't have time to stalk them), I use just pure barbells and kettle balls for my leg workout.  Still does the trick. I just can't use too much weight as I do with the machines. My little arms and shoulders can only lift so much. I haven't yet perfected the "power clean."

This is the Smith Machine that is supposed to be used for mainly leg workouts but people use it for so many other things. Kind of intimidating...I know. Like I said I was one of those people that was scared to use it. Now I love it! In the mornings before work I never have a hard time getting it. But if I come after work I seem to hit the "party club" crowd.  The "meatheads" park themselves for hours on end.  Try to ask someone from the gym to show you how to use the machine in order to prevent injury. Or do like I did and take someone with you that already knows how to use the machines. 

I really don't have "cankles" the photo just added a few pounds to my ankles. I swear!

Now I would not recommend doing the front box jumps or bosu ball squats if you have knee problems or poor balance. When I first started doing both of these I had to slowly ease into it. 

So if you really want to spice up your leg day, try my workout out. Of course add weight according to what you are capable of lifting. Never over-do-it! It takes me about 40-50 minutes depending on how long my breaks are in between sets to complete the entire circuit. You'll be sore for a few days but definitely back to normal for the next leg day. :)

Most of the time people dread the leg day but they need to understand that for a fit body, the muscles in the legs must also be strong and in shape. Moreover, if you are a marathoner, then legs workout is vital for you. The way the author has mentioned the routine for legs workout is fine and can be tried by both newcomers and veterans. You need to keep in mind that taking rests in between the sets must be according to your reps and how much you can take without injuring your muscles.
