Lunges & Hills & Sprints...OH MY! Treadmill Workout




I took two days off from running and the gym this week...I know crazy right?? Well I felt like my body needed it.  I am doing this whole new thing where you actually listen to what your body needs. Another ludacris concept but I must say it is working for me. I am really trying to avoid injuries for my upcoming half marathon training.
  
Well when I got to the gym this morning I knew I needed to hop on that treadmill and do some serious work. I wanted to just stick to the basics and no funny stuff but decided I needed a challenge. Of course I did...I am just a twisted soul that way.  So for this treadmill workout I incorporated three things I loathe: lunges, hills, and sprints. There was no time for weight lifting today for me. Today was all about cardio and interval training. Here it is:


By the end of the first complete circuit, my legs were like jello. I actually had to use the hand rails to hold me up while doing lunges. By the end of the second complete circuit, I was holding on for every hill run. I really wanted to push myself and I sure did. After this workout I went straight to the sauna to do some serious stretching. 


Good thing I was wearing dark colors cause not one part of my gym attire was dry. I was drenched after running on the treadmill and stretching in the sauna. You know how some people say they don't sweat they sparkle? Well you could say I was a shooting star cause I was sparkling like no other! 


Oh and by the way...my ass is super sore from the hills and lunges from this morning. I started to feel it in the afternoon at work. I can't wait to REALLY feel it tomorrow when I get out of bed...not! Hope everyone had a great Wednesday and were able to get a good workout in wether it was in the gym or outside.

  2. great circuit workout! way to make the treadmill more lively :) i went to barre class today to stretch out after my tempo run last night.

  3. Oh my, I love love love this workout! I don't think I have enough motivation to do more than a plain jane workout today, but I will definitely try it this week. Can't wait!
