15 Facts About Me

I was super happy to be nominated for this fun survey from Megan. I am new to the blogging world so this survey is a great way for people to get to know me a bit more. You can also read my About Me section to get a glimpse of my life. If you haven't checked out Megan's blog I highly recommend you check her out. She lost 80 pounds a few year's ago and has been able to maintain her weight off by living a healthy lifestyle and eating healthy. She also has great recipes that are to die for!

1. What is your current health related goal?

This year I actually have a few health related goals. The main one: running seven half marathons. Last year I was able to do five so I wanted to increase it by two this year. I would love to PR in one of them but honestly I just want to enjoy the races and run them pain free.

2. What is your biggest irrational fear?

I am actually scared of the dark and I scare super easily. I am not kidding, my husband scares me all the time. Sometimes he does it without even trying and gets a kick out of it.

3. Do you enjoy wrapping presents?

I sure do! I usually like to sip on hot chocolate, listen to Christmas music in the background, and wrap the presents.

4. What's your favorite cross training activity?

I love to take Spin, weight lift, and Zumba. Spin and weight lifting has really helped me with dropping my race time. Zumba is more of a fun class that I take to kind of spice up my workouts.

5. If I came to visit you, what would we do?

I would probably take you on a road trip to the coast, go wine tasting, shop at the cute boutique stores, eat at delicious restaurants, and enjoy the beautiful sunset over looking the coast. California is an awesome state!

6. You have 2 weeks off of work and 2 round trip plane tickets to ANYWHERE. Where would you go and who would you take?

There are soooo many places I would love to visit. I love to travel so this one is a toughy. I think I would travel to Italy though. Of course I would pick my husband to travel with. Europe is expensive so if I really had free round trip tickets then I would definitely take advantage.

7. What’s the most embarrassing thing that has ever happened to you during a run or race?

I fall a lot...I mean more than the average person. The first time I ever fell was during my third marathon in San Diego. It was mile 22 and someone literally tripped me as they tried to pass me. I was so annoyed that they didn't even bother to check on me. I had a bloody shoulder and bloody knees. Oh and today I fell just taking my dogs for a run. They decided to run me instead of me run them.

8.  Tell me the 3 best days of your life. Or at least the first 3 that pop into your mind.

My three favorite days have been when I got engaged, my wedding day, and the day I finished my first triathlon. Obviously my engagement and wedding day are extremely special to me because they are with my husband. The triathlon was super significant in my life since I was going through a really difficult time. That triathlon symbolized so much more to me than any ordinary race. I cried as I crossed that finish line.

9. Okay, you HAVE to eat a fast food meal. What restaurant would you choose and what would you order?

I don't really eat fast food but I would have to say In-n-Out or Chipotle.

10.  Have you ever met a celebrity?

The closest to celebrities were meeting Monica and SR. I read Monica's blog daily and used to read SR's when she had a blog. They are both so witty and great running motivators. Loved meeting them at the VIP area of the San Diego Rock-N-Roll race. I was super excited when I saw them there and I just couldn't help myself but ask for a picture.

Of course my friend took a blurry picture!

11.  Share a picture of yourself in non workout clothes!

This is rare for me. If I am not in workout clothes, I am wearing my work scrubs.

12. If you could choose to have a ‘do-over’ and switch careers, what would you choose and why?

I actually love my job but I think I would try something else within the medical field. Maybe a nurse, a doctor, a perfusionist, or try physical therapy again. I love working with children so I don't think I would change that. I find so much joy helping others so the medical field is where I am meant to be.

13. If you won the Olympic Gold Medal – how do you think you would react?

I would be crying like a baby.

14. What do you want for Christmas?

This is an old survey but I really didn't want anything for Christmas. All I really wanted was to spend time with loved ones and see my family.

15. What skill do you lack?

I have a very sarcastic personality. I often forget that people don't get my sarcasm. So yeah I need to take that into consideration more. Don't really know if that is a skill I lack or just something I need to work on.

This is an old survey as you can tell from the Christmas/wrapping presents questions. So I won't actually tag anyone especially since I can't remember who has or who hasn't done it already. But I would love to hear some of the responses to the questions. I would love to learn more about you!
