If you follow me on Instagram, then you saw that this weekend I was all over the place exploring all that my city has to offer. Honestly San Diego has so much to offer that we will NEVER run out of things to do. This weekend I had my eyes set on two things to do: La Jolla Art and Wine Festival and Little Italy Festa.
On Saturday we took the dogs to the Fiesta Island dog park. You may remember this place from the Places to Run in San Diego post. This dog park is awesome! It's gated and it is so big. The dogs have their own beach and they have so much room to play and around in. They went crazy as soon as we let them loose. It was great to see them so happy. My husband and I agreed we need to take them out here more often.
Afterwards we went home and got ready to head out to the La Jolla Art and Wine Festival. We have been in search for the last little touches to finish decorating our house. So we were very excited to see what the festival had to offer. The best part was that it was free to enter.
We looked around for a bit and then we realized how hungry we were. We actually ate at this really cool little Mexican place right off the main street of the festival, Puesto. We just ate at the bar and had a few drinks to cool down from the heat. I can't believe how hot it has been for being October!Any ways the drinks were tangy (our favorite type) and the food was delicious.
Once our bellies were full, we continued on. Dario got to participate in the art of tagging. He definitely shouldn't quite his day job BTW. Oh and this festival even had a Beer/Wine garden. So we stopped there right for a few drinks before we headed home. That was our Saturday.
On Sunday, I started my day with doing a speed workout that left my legs feeling like jello. Afterwards I went home and got ready to check out the next thing on my agenda for the weekend: Little Italy! My husband and I love Little Italy. We originally considered moving there but having two big dogs just didn't make it possible. So now we just try to go as often as we can. One of my friends was here from Fresno visiting so I suggested we meet there for the festival. Oh my goodness was it hot there! We opted for eating inside at a restaurant that luckily had air conditioning. We were able to catch up over a good meal. Then we found ourselves walking around and seeing all that the festival has to offer. There were live performances, tons of food options, art/chalk sidewalk competition, and a beer/wine garden. We of course found ourselves there too! If the weather would have been at least 10 degrees cooler I would have been much happier. Over all though, I really enjoyed my time there. We left earlier than I wanted just because of where we parked. Next year we will definitely use public transportation to get there!
When we left, I couldn't help but think how lucky we are to be in San Diego. I just love my city and seem to fall more in love with it every day.
But today I had to give myself a little pep talk. Just too much fun this weekend!
