12 Days of No Running

Hello blogger world! I haven't been blogging mostly because I have not been running or doing any physical activity for the last 12 days. It has been a real change of pace for me but I embraced it. Don't get me wrong I missed running, but it was great sleeping in and not worrying about getting my miles in. So what did I do to keep me occupied?
  • Work on my never ending scarf! No seriously I have been working on this scarf for what seems like two years! I started it to distract myself during a really rough time in my life. Well then I got bored, placed it aside and now only bring it out during certain times of the year. 
  • Reading...Well to be honest here, I have attempted to read but I somehow end up falling asleep as soon as I read a few pages. You would think the book isn't good, but it is actually really entertaining. I am currently reading The Good Girl by Mary Kubica.
  • Christmas decorating! Oh this has been the most fun to do this past week. My house is looking so festive. Every year I keep adding more decor which makes my house so warm and welcoming.
  • Watch endless television. This includes movies, shows, and YouTube videos. A little side note...I absolutely love to watch engagement proposals and military home surprises on YouTube. I cry every time but it makes me so happy to see everyone so happy! My husband makes so much fun of me because of this.
  • Family time. Not only have I spent time with my parents but I have been spending time with my niece and nephew. They even spend the night at our place last weekend. It's been great to create lasting memories with them. 
The two main reasons I really wasn't running though were because I finally had my egg retrieval and I was in a pretty bad car accident. My egg retrieval is what really made me not run. I was told to take it easy for a week and to not partake in any physical activity. I took the doctor's advice and just relaxed at home. Well by the end of the week I had to go back to work and on my way to work I ended up getting into a three car accident. I was very shocked up by it. The two other cars were completely totaled but luckily my Subi took it like a champ. I was able to drive away from the accident. Don't get me wrong the front of my car didn't look pretty but considering the impact I was happy to be alive. My body was already stressed from my surgery, so when this accident happened it really didn't help. My body was sore for about two days and I had a lingering headache.


Well those 12 days have passed and I am happy to slowly transition back to running. I am still not 100% better but since I am not training for anything at the current moment I am in no rush. Yesterday I went to a new place to run...Balboa Park. I can't wait to tell you guys about what a great place it is to run. So many running routes and trails scattered throughout the park. I have a feeling this is going to be one of my new favorite places to check out. Until then I'll give you guys a preview of one of the great trails. Have a good day everyone!

  1. Oh, Daisy! Glad to hear you are okay, but that stinks that you were in an accident. Prayers for your continued journey with the IVF :)
