What Wellness Means To Me

About a week ago, I was asked what wellness meant to me. Well it really got me thinking of what would be the best way to answer this. Every person is different but for me wellness is composed of two parts: mental and physical. And to be honest I feel mental wellness is a bit harder to obtain. We live in a world where you are constantly judged for our looks, how we dress, how we talk, what we eat, and even what we believe. All this can totally play with the psyche making it difficult to feel good about ourselves. I am firm believer that in order to be the best version of you, it starts from inside.


So in order to start feeling better inside, you have to really be genuinely happy with how you feel about yourself.  For example, when you look at yourself in the mirror maybe instead of pointing out all the negative things, focus on your positive attributes. It starts with changing our perspective. We often seem to see things half empty instead of half full. We are all guilty of this when things get tough. This year I have been journaling three things I am grateful for every day and I can't tell you how much this has helped me.  So far my outlook on life has changed for the better. I am focusing on all the positive things in my life and really trying not to take things for granted. Even with everything that I have gone through most recently, I am still trying to be as happy as I can be.

Along with getting my mental health in order, I have been hard at trying to get the physical component down. I'll be the first one to point out that I don't have the best body. I have my flaws but I am working on them. I have cellulite and stretch marks like many other people. But I am happy with where I am. Most of my weight gained over the last few years have been because of the many different hormones while doing infertility treatments. I don't regret doing any of it and so I don't regret any of the extra weight I gained. My metabolism has been slowly getting better and I am starting to find my groove back.


I have been fortunate enough to receive some free samples from BeFit which will allow me to kick start this year. I can't wait to try them out. I have never tried a fat burner so that will be new. So this year I am really trying to work on me both physically and mentally. This year I am hoping I will finally have that overall wellness that I have been working for.  Stay tuned for a review of all the products and a giveaway to one lucky reader.

  1. LOVE THIS POST. Wellness to me means finding the balance between eating right, exercising for health rather than a quantitative body composition value, and being HAPPY with where I am in life (relationships, personal growth, etc). Haha it's a lot, and it's hard to achieve!

    1. It's hard but only at start. After few months of exercises, diets, etc you will do this automatically, but at start it's really hard. But don't surrender and you will achieve your goals.   2. you know I LOVE this post! Wellness is just so important. To me it's about self-care and compassion and for yourself and others. And you're so right, it is unique to YOU.
