Current Life Update + Cancun Pics!

Hello Blogger World!! It has been quite awhile since I posted anything on my blog. I've been busy and a lot has happened. So this post will be mostly just a quick update on what's been going on in my world. If you follow me on Instagram then you've seen I am still working out. I do have a race lined up for June but I am still not in full training mode.

I have been logging in some miles here and there but mostly I have been doing more cross training. I am just about finished with the BeFit 30 Day Fat Burner and I can honestly say that I have seen some great results. I'll be posting about my experience with their workouts and products soon. One lucky person will also get the opportunity to win the products I have tried. So definitely keep checking the blog for this free giveaway.

Probably the best (and worst) thing that happened to me in the last few weeks was my vacation to Cancun. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love Cancun. I mean my hubby and I got married there so it holds a special place in my heart. The first four days were amazing! The weather was great and I got some awesome pool time that was much needed.

We went for a destination wedding and stayed at the all-inclusive Beach Palace. Our vacation started off great but my husband got sick on the second/third day. What he originally thought was a hangover turned into a severe stomach flu. Poor guy was unable to get out of bed for most of the third day. While he was resting in the hotel room, I went parasailing!

Originally I was really excited to do this but then we took the jet ski to the boat. Somehow I didn't really take that part into consideration. I swear I thought I was going to flip and die on that jet ski.  The waters were super choppy my friend and I were hanging on for dear life. Then we got on the boat and that's when it really went downhill for me. I have really bad motion sickness and with choppy waters I was super nauseous on the boat.

I started dry heaving when we went up in the air. My friends were like, "Just let it out!" So I did! Haha! For a few minutes after throwing up, I felt great! I was able to enjoy the wonderful views of Cancun and take some selfies with my GoPro. We were up in the air for about 15-20 minutes. As they were bringing us back to the boat though, the dry heaving started again! And once again I threw up. I was so happy to be back to shore! The rest of the day I just layed poolside and tried to get some color.

I did workout while on vacation. Unfortunately it was only one day. Well technically I did do a water aerobics class so I guess you can say I did two workouts. The gym was tiny but the views were  pretty sweet. I had every intention of working out more but then I got sick! I did manage to enjoy the first four days at the pool, beach, and with new friends though. Of course the wedding was absolutely wonderful. The bride was beautiful and there was seriously so much love between the newlyweds. The night of the wedding...the stomach flu hit me!

To be honest, both my husband and I were happy to get back home. But afterwards we felt like we were both robbed of a vacation. We needed one too. For now we will have to just remember the few good memories we had before getting sick.

It was hard to get back to the swing of things after Cancun. Mostly because both my husband and I felt so drained and we were still recovering from that stupid bug we got. I had to call in sick the first day back.  So that pretty much sums up what has been going on in my life recently. Coming up in the next two weeks are a 5K and my half marathon training officially starts. There are a few other things going on right now, but that will require a separate post. Well that is my current life update!

  1. So in April, my husband and I had our wedding reception here and we both have no regrets with choosing this venue. I am still receiving compliments from all our guests. The food at Chicago event space was delicious from appetizer to dessert.
