March Review + 5 Workout Songs To Add To Your Playlist!

Last day of March! This month was actually a ton of fun for me. I had some great runs, was a tourist in my own city, ate at some amazing restaurants, and had family and friends come and visit for Spring Break. Here is a little glimpse of my crazy month:


Total Miles: 51...I was honestly hoping to at least reach 60 but I took some time off at the end of the month to heal my right knee. I'm glad I did but it cost me a week and a half of training. I am trying to be really smart about my training this time around. I am truly trying to listen to my body and run pain free. Getting older sucks! I never experienced knee pain until after I turned 30!


Favorite Run: I would have to say all of my trail runs have been my favorite this month. Never in my wildest dreams would I have thought that running on the trails would bring me such joy but it truly has. I've been enjoying it so much that I actually bought my first pair of trail shoes. When I found a really good pair on clearance, I jumped at the opportunity. Bless my husband for supporting my crazy running.

Like I said earlier, we had friends and family come visit us so that meant I got to be a tour guide to my favorite city. Unfortunately when my sister in law and her family came to visit I was not able to go out with them much. I worked pretty much the whole time they were here. We did however grab dinner the night before they left. My bestie and her family came to visit that same week and with them I was able to check out and visit some of my favorite parts of San Diego. We went to the Zoo, the Safari Park, the beach (La Jolla), and ate at some really good restaurants. 






Honestly it was the best spring break I've ever had! My heart was so full. I was sad when they left, but was happy that I was able to show them a great time. Living here in San Diego is pretty darn amazing!

So what's in store for April?

I am excited to continue my training and increasing my mileage. I am hoping to get around 60-70 miles for the month of April. I am also super excited to try out my new shoes on the trails. It's the little things that make me happy! One thing I am super thrilled about doing this month is getting my running coach certification. I have been wanting to get this certification for over two years now, but could never get in. I signed up for this a few months ago and it just dawned on me that I'll be taking my course next weekend! I am not sure if I will do anything with my certification but who knows...I'm just happy to learn more about running and making good training plans.
